Inside the ARG, a flywheel spins at high speed within a gimbal. When the yacht starts to roll, the gyro tilts and produces a counter-torque that dampens the motion, both at anchor and underway. Its 180° gimbal swing lets it respond to larger waves.
The ARG mounts on a solid foundation, with no through-hull openings, no water cooling, no hydraulics and no vacuum. Built on Mitsubishi gyro technology in use since 1981 and distributed by DMS Holland, it is simple to retrofit, quiet in operation and easy to maintain.
